Immolation by Caitlin Cruse
A few days ago, Ramona Caen was hell-bent on proving a fantastic medieval broadsword was a fake. It was too perfect, too eerie to be authentic. Then, it started speaking to her.
That was when things got scary.
The flirtatious advances of the sword’s owner, an antiquarian named Caleb, have suddenly turned insidious. Yanked from everything she knows, Ramona is flung into the tenebrous world of primeval Hercynians battling for dominance over humanity with the undead Varisci. And according to Caleb, the war's outcome depends entirely on her – specifically, on her death.
The twists and turns throughout this book kept me on edge! Caitlin created a fantastical world filled with ancient races and prophecies that any fantasy fan will love!
I had so much fun working on Immolation. Caitlin’s fantastical world of ancient races, weapons, and wars drew me in from the moment I started reading. My goal was to help her bring out those fantastic details, and transfer the world she created in her head onto the page. Throughout my time editing, I gave Caitlin feedback on developing the book’s lore, deepening character’s relationships and development, and moving the plot along.
Currently, Caitlin is making revisions. I’m excited to see how the story progresses as I edit the next two books in the series. Stay tuned!
